Women’s Work celebrates after receiving funding from the National Lottery

November 10, 2022

The National Lottery Community Fund is funding our new project, Women’s Work Heart

The team at Women’s Work are celebrating after receiving over £430,000 in funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

This new National Lottery funding will fund our project, Women’s Work Heart, which focuses on improving the wellbeing of local Derbyshire women and their families by providing support through various workshops and activities. Workshops include the Freedom Programme, Parenting Programmes, Drop In’s, Peer Support along with one to one support with a project worker amongst many others. The project will also signpost women to our various partner agencies to get help with issues such as debt, housing and substance abuse.

National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund distributes a share of this to projects to support people and communities to prosper and thrive.

During the pandemic, in 2020 alone, The National Lottery Community Fund distributed almost £1 billion to charities and community organisations across the UK.

Thank you to National Lottery players, this grant will make a big difference to people’s lives.
