Committed to supporting vulnerable women and their families
We are continually looking for new partners to grow and develop more services for the women of Derbyshire and their children.
Throughout our history we have built a sound reputation as a professional service provider working with, and supporting, women with the most challenging and complex needs. Our one-stop-shop model of support is tailored to individual needs and enhanced by working with a wide range of external agencies across Derbyshire, particularly health and education providers.
Professional partnerships
We welcome support from corporate partners, who wish to place their charity activities right at the heart of their businesses.
Associating your company with us and supporting the work we do will inspire your employees and clients, set you apart from your competitors and identify you as a socially responsible business.
A growing reach across the country
We work with a wide range of external agencies across Derbyshire, particularly health and education providers.
We have a flagship 5,000 sq metre main office based in Derby and have extended our work and reach across the county delivering in probation offices, HMP Foston Hall, community centres and schools. We have strong partnerships with accredited training providers who deliver to clients on our behalf and building on our knowledge and experience we are exploring the opportunities of sharing our skills and knowledge with other organisations that share our aims and objectives.

I joined because I have always volunteered in one way or another and given my time, but I always wanted to do something that was personal to me. If facilities like Women’s Work had been available when I was growing up that could have helped my mum, I would have had a better childhood. It makes me happy giving back to the service users and helping them feel empowered, even if its something small that does so.
Jeanette – Volunteer
I have a better understanding of my emotions and feelings, and am now calmer. I learnt how to deal with things better
Empowered Women
Thank you to Gemma and all staff for making me feel welcome. I felt very anxious at the start but now I have finished I feel like I want to keep coming back. It’s a safe place for me to learn and grow and I enjoy all of the sessions that are there. The staff are lovely, and kind and caring and all show support to you. It doesn’t matter what you are there for because everyone is together working through it all.
Member – Turn Around Project
At the end of the programme I feel able to say 100% that there will be no future re- offending for me. I am now positively focussed, re-housed, I have successfully reduced my alcohol in-take.
Member – The Turn Around
The Change programme has given me a more positive outlook on doing group activities. The topics were interesting and helped me to see my own views and the importance of them in life.

One of the main reasons I chose to volunteer is to empower women to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. By volunteering, I not only contribute to the community but also experience personal growth and development, knowing that I am part of a supportive and collaborative environment that positively impacts the lives of others. I enjoy volunteering at Women’s Work because of the incredibly supportive and encouraging staff members and other volunteers that create a nurturing environment. Their constant presence and unwavering support make it a truly uplifting experience.
