Committed to supporting vulnerable women and their families
Women can come to us in a range of ways.
Either from a referral by another agency or a health provider for instance or perhaps they’ve just got in touch because they’ve heard about what we do by word of mouth and think we can help.
The first step is an invitation to a one-to-one meeting with one of our staff to consider what issues need to be addressed and what support we could offer. From that meeting, an Action Plan is agreed.
We offer a holistic person-centred approach which means that you will be offered a package of support that is tailored to you to address the particular challenges that you face.
As you progress on your journey, you will receive 1-2-1 support from a project worker and have access to additional services that will help you to build the necessary life skills, self-confidence as well as qualifications that will help turn your life around.
You will get the opportunity to meet other women and receive support from our peer mentors, as well as get practical help through our clothing and food banks, and advice on housing and debt.
If you are an agency wanting to make a referral please ring our main office number 01332 242525. There are two avenues of support; if it is a general request for support details will be taken over the phone and a referral made to an appropriate programme.
If your client has 2 or more of the following problems - mental health, substance misuse, housing stability, offending and abuse – which are causing a barrier to education, employment of training, a referral to Opportunity and Change will be recommended.
If you are a woman wanting to self-refer to Women’s Work please phone the general office number 01332 242525 to discuss the support we offer and what would best suit your needs.
