Commited to supporting vulnerable women and their families

Women’s Work is extremely grateful for the contribution of volunteers who help us in various ways.

Whether that's providing support in the office, helping with our street outreach sessions, helping to facilitate group sessions or accompanying our women to various appointments and training courses, each and every one of our volunteers is vital to what we do on a daily basis.

Developing key life skills

Being a volunteer is a great way to gain skills and experience which can help with securing future employment.

Many of our volunteers say that being a volunteer is much more than just ‘giving something back’, they feel part of a family and it has helped improve their social life and sense of wellbeing. 50% of our staff team started here as volunteers.

Volunteer with us.

Completing the Change programme has helped me better understand my mental health and ways of dealing with things

Member – Change Programme

After doing Healthy relationships, I have better knowledge about abusive relationships and can now recognise the red warning flags in the early stages. I have learnt to love myself, and will not allow anyone to control or abuse me anymore

Member – Healthy Relationships

The Change Programme has given me an understanding of life, relationships, the world, myself and empowerment. I felt heard and not judged, and also felt a deep self-realisation and knowledge of self

After doing the Anger Management Programme, I recognise my triggers now and I can open up more and talk.

Member – Anger Management

One of the main reasons I chose to volunteer is to empower women to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. By volunteering, I not only contribute to the community but also experience personal growth and development, knowing that I am part of a supportive and collaborative environment that positively impacts the lives of others. I enjoy volunteering at Women’s Work because of the incredibly supportive and encouraging staff members and other volunteers that create a nurturing environment. Their constant presence and unwavering support make it a truly uplifting experience.
